4: Where there is no Truth; there is no reconciliation…(pt 1)

Day 429 (Approximate)

3:02pm

One of the biggest problems I personally have with Truth & Reconcilliation (Day) is that Canada’s newcomers, settling nations & minorities are not actively involved or included to learn about Canada’s history with Indigenous people, in addtion to failing to make a more concerted effort in education these groups about the systemic traumas experienced by First Nations people such as Intergenerational Trauma, the impacts of Residential School, and the extreme number of slain First Nation children’s graves being located or found within First Nation communities (see article below)

George Gordon First Nation Identifies More Graves at Former Residential School (Sept 27, 2024):

I am from George Gordon First Nation, as mentioned in the post above, it is my home reserve and community where I had partially grew up as a child with my moshom & kokom Oochoo; but also with my siblings (Tanya, Kara - deceased, and Falcon) and biological parents Gary & Brenda. I have many fond memories of growing up here like how I would run on the gravel roads bare feet, and how I loved the smell of the dirt after a rain fall, and how I loved to play or explore deep in the bushes accidently stumbling upon put-down cattle carcasses. As seamlessly innocent as these experiences were, they were often overshadowed by many traumatic memories as well like how I feared the sound of my drunken fathers boots walking up the steps; how I would hear screams from my mother being dragged down 25 steps and being beaten in the basement, and how no matter how deep & far I trecked in the bushes alone sexual abuse always seem to follow me.

Its important for newcomers, settling nations, and minorities groups to understand intergenerational trauma experienced by First Nations people and be made more aware about the innumerable inequalities, socio-economic conditions and barriers, such as poverty, suicide, incarceration, homelessness and addictions that currently plague Indigenous peoples, their communities families and children - but more importantly how how these colonized religious & spiritual acts have had a key role in the hardships experienced from Indigenous peoples.

Furthermore, its important that newcomers, settling nations, and minority groups are provided this information or educated in all forms genuinely & authentically from people who have actually experienced it, survived it, and continues to strive to heal from their experiences. For example, how can we begin to strive to heal if one group or one races knowlege or experiences are discluded from others; what occurs is we may miss pertinent information or knowledge that may help the whole heal - resulting in a heighted continuation of colonial trauma. In Indigenous peoples cases, it will result in unjustified unwarranted colonized religious & spiritual abuse, assaults & attacks that will fuel ongoing tensions and continue to heighten trauma & violence experienced or initiated by Indigenous peoples.

Now back to my problem with Truth & Reconciliation (Day), the truth is it lacks integrity and honesty from many which include all Governments & Politicians - this includes the Canadian Government failing to pull its weight and dragging their feet very purposely by not properly providing the adequate education, knowledge and information to newcomers, settlers, and minority groups about their relationship with Indigenous peoples. As a highly trained, xtremely creatively intelligent educated Mental Health & Wellness Worker, Ive decided to step up to the plate, and take an honest swing using my energetic & spiritual gift, or rapping style that I call Hip-Bop, infact, this is the purpose & intention of my first album “iap: Rise of tha Matriarch”.

I am someone who is fully educated, skilled, and knowledgeable (got the diploma with distinction, employed as a Indigenous researcher at FNUC but also provided lectures at the University of Regina, to prove it) that has survived and experienced these traumas first-hand (such as residential school, day school, foster care, family violence, gang affiliation, suicide, jails, group homes. addictions, sexual abuse, and prostitution) and have been trying to actively heal from them - I believe that while doing so, I have a duty and responsibility to educate others & give hope to others, using my energetic & spiritual gifts, through multiple chosen art forms.

Hip-Bop is my founding & creative expression, or what I call a “majestical rapping style” that I have chosen to put out into the world, to help educated but also help people heal from colonized religious & spiritual trauma. My intention is to use my gits to share the truth about Canada’s relationship with me, HellzFiya (Indi-Gyptian) an evolved Indigenous woman (Being) - and share my story from a very real, hard-hitting, xtremely authentic & genuine perspective and I have established HellzFiya Records & Talent Agency to help be that medium for others to use to help in their own personal healing from colonial trauma.

Finally, I am fully aware and know how important this album is. it why many want to keep my work & my voice suppressed, oppressed and repressed - it comes with hard-hitting or hard-healing big factz - so much so those would much rather choose to ignore it - or abuse, attack & assault me for ever choosing to lyrically speak on it. I suppose it would make their world much easier to try keep me hidden, keep me secret, an my voice silenced. They know how energetically & spiritually influential I am because I naturally make people question the world that they live in & dig a little deeper into the truth about their own personal experiences, history & identity.
